My schedule: Science, Math, Project Lead The Way (Day 1), Student Aid (Day 2), Honors Language Arts, Social Studies
2/2/15----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Science
We are now learning about family pedigrees
I love the look on peoples faces when they hear that:
•I have five siblings, and I'm the oldest
•My mom has eight siblings
•that all of them are married with kids
•And that I have 40-ish cousins
It is sad that so many people are talking about all the relatives and how many divorced and remarried
Math
Why, at this far into the year, are people still surprised that while they're telling stories I finished the work?
2/3/15----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a half day
Project Lead The Way
We just played games
Student-Parent-Teacher conferences is what we did later
2/4/15----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Science
There are 97 people in my family pedigree with generations from my great-grandparents to my generation
That is a lot of people
A kid asked for my help and when I said how to do it, he argued and that me $5 that he was right
He wasn't
And now he won't pay meπ
I should stop making deals with people, because they never pay up
Math
We said songs we wanted to have played while we work, and when mine was played everyone else complained because it was clean and had no rapping
I was also the only one to finish the work
Kids these days...
Assembly
We had a Holocaust survivor speak to us
His favorite simile is "Respect is like a boomerang... You have to give it to get it back!"
He talked about his family, and his dad actually worked in the German army and was killed by US soldiers, so when he was liberated he had mixed feelings
He talked about how the Jews were killed, how, when, and why and about the living conditions
He talked about FAQ
•He does NOT have a number on his arm, he was taken to a camp, but not a concentration camp
•He did want to kill the Germans, but didn't because he knew that nothing good or beautiful comes from hate
It was definitely a once of a kind experience, very much like the Cultural Celebration
2/5/15----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Science
Everyone got mad at me when I relayed the assignment to the sub because the sub was only going to give us half the assignment
Well excuse me! I would like to not get an F for not completing the assignment!
Math
After the test mom came and got me and now I have a passport! (See FB post, not that that has anymore detail) π
2/6/15----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Science
FUN FACT #12: Porcupines float in water!
Math
We had a sub and she gave me a Tootsie pop when I say down and began working while everyone else talked
She also let us listen to music, but almost took it back when people had it up to loud
She is a grandma so she worries for "Young people's ears being broken from that loud racket"
Exact words
And that was this week! See you next time!
